Captain America: Civil War (2016)
So, Captain America: Civil War is just around the corner! Are you excited? More importantly who's side are you on?
The synopsis is: One year after the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron, another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, prompting politicians to form a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to call in the Avengers, which results in the fracturing of the team into two opposing factions–one led by Steve Rogers who wishes to operate without regulation, and the other led by Tony Stark who supports government oversight – while they attempt to protect the world from a new enemy.
So from this, and the trailer. Things look pretty explosive! Captain America had a pretty stong first film, and an even better second film that felt like a spy thriller, supported by Black Widow. Iron Man had a strong first film - it brought Marvel to the front of peoples minds and you could argue set the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe alight! However, then came Iron Man 2, a not so great sequel lacking in substance, finally Iron Man 3 came along which was for many, a let down due to some weak villains and some very stupid moves by Tony. Giving out his address to the cyber terrorist, anyone?
Tony also seems to dominates both Avengers outings, even saving the whole world in Avengers Assemble by risking his own life in the space portal. His quick wit and then later creation of the Iron Man army, followed by Ultron, then Vision were the main plot points of Age of Ultron too.....it seems he is still the Marvel mascot for now. Steve Rogers is equally as entertaining, his back story is just as (if not more) entertaining, he is a man stuck in the wrong time, who was forced to scarified his one true love - Miss Agent Carter. As well of course being an ex-guinea pig for super experiments, he is equally compelling.
Will the world be split in two for who is Team Cap and who is Team Tony....only time will tell.
Either way, it is bound to be a contender for the highest grossing film ever!
