His day finally arrived!
Congratulations Leo. What a speech! So after his 5th Oscar nomination, Mr DiCaprio finally received his golden statue for Best Actor in his role in The Revenant. If you haven't seen it yet, (where have you been!?) it is worth the extra money to go see it in the cinema. The film looks beautiful for starters. The lighting is all natural and it also meant they could only film at the last few hours of the day to achieve the look the wanted. Leo himself plays a betrayed frontiersman in the 19th Century. He is dead set on revenge but he has to battle the forces of mother nature herself first. Leo put his body and soul into this performance, huge chunks of the film are lacking in dialogue, just his expressions and short movements. It builds to a heart stopping climax, not to be missed.
Should Leo have won for this role? Or perhaps for another year that he was nominated? Do you think he was robbed in previous years?
